Corsair Gaming, a division of PC gaming hardware leader Corsair® dedicated to the elevation of PC gaming, today introduced the Corsair Gaming Sabre RGB gaming mice, which come with one of two types of sensors: optical and laser. Designed with input from veteran pro gamers, the new mice are engineered with a new sleek, ergonomic shape and are built with an ultralight chassis for quick, fluid, and precise movements over extended gaming sessions.

The Corsair Gaming Sabre RGB Mice are available in two models, enabling gamers to further customize their battle stations with either optical or laser sensors.

Advanced CUE software lets gamers fine-tune performance characteristics such as DPI, acceleration, and smoothing to customize button assignments and macros for optimal gameplay. The mice also feature four-zone illumination with up to 16.8 million customizable colors, making them the ideal companion for Corsair Gaming K70, K95, or K65 RGB mechanical keyboards, and the Corsair Gaming H1500 and H2100 gaming headsets.

What is with the light and ultralight mice? Doesn't anyone make a cordless mouse that is, or comes close to the weight of a Logitech MX1000?

Nice looking mice, Corsair. I'll never buy one, too light for my taste.

Corsair has heavier mice in the M65/M95. The M65 even comes with adjustable weights to alter its balance.

I feel like the price point these are at directly competes with the M65/M95 and M45. Maybe these are meant to be replacements for those models. In which case "light" seems to be spin for "more cheaply made." But they have pretty lights! Look at the pretty lights!

Yeah, not getting the whole push for lightness here. Superlight mice are NOT good for gaming.

Every replacement mouse I got after my G5 had to be opened up and washers glued inside. I wish they'd just bring the G5 back.

I have to disagree, look at many of the top gamers that are playing fast paced games (ie. FPS), are generally using lighter mice rather than anything metal and heavier. You will see most with ambidextrous mice, or sometimes right hand oriented (lighter) mice like the Razer Deathadder. It's really a matter of taste, but it's not at all common to see top players using heavier mice from my knowledge.

Also it's saying 'sub-100g' I'm guessing that's very close to 100g and that isn't exactly 'ultralight'. It's right up there around the Razer Deathadder and the Steelseries Rival.

With that said and if you are still interested, the optical version is using the Pixart PMW 3310 sensor. That's really good news knowing how well it performs!

Indeed, most serious FPS players will highly disagree with light mice not being good for gaming. It all boils down to the fact that you have more control over a lighter mouse, since it will have less inertia to deal with.
