Power consumption and number of case fans? (Take two...)

How many fans do you have, and how powerful are they?

  • I have fans that pull no more than 1W / 0.083A @ 12V

I'm working on a project, and I was curious to know:

- How many case fans do you use on your PC? (Not including CPU fans connected to CPU coolers)
- How much current do those fans draw at 12V?

If you could take a few seconds to fill out the poll it would be helpful. It is a lot of data so I really appreciate the time you put into this. Thanks!

I have 13 fans in my system. Those fans include:

4 Gentle Typhoon 2150 RPM fans. They're rated at 0.123 amps.
2 Aerocool Shark 140mm red LED fans. They're rated at 0.39 amps.
2 Aerocool Shark 140mm no LED fans. Not sure about amperage rating, they're likely less than 0.2 amps.
4 Aerocool Shark 120mm blue LED fans. They're rated at 0.3 amps.
1 Coolermaster R4 2000 RPM red LED fan. It's rated at 0.37 amps.

Obviously my fans are almost never running at full speed, they'll be quite noisy. Typically on my fan controller they're set to ~30-40%, whatever the lowest setting is where they don't shut off entirely.

I think I am pulling about 1A on the main system fans...6@ typhoon 1800s on the rads and 2@ 80mm spot fans, wait, are we counting GPU fans?

I have 8 case fans.

6x Coolermaster Jetflo 120 White rated @ 0.4A but they're either run at fixed 5V or trough a fan controller, so I have no idea how much they're actually pulling.
1x Coolermaster Jetlfo 140, rated @ 0.3A It's not available to buy separately I removed it from my AIO water cooler which came with it.
1x Coolermaster 80 that came with the case. Sleeve bearing, usual low quality fan, probably doesn't take much power.

Plus I have another Jetflo 140, on the radiator, if that counts.

I have 5 case fans.

1 CoolerMaster Megaflow @ 0.16 A 200mm
2 CoolerMaster ones that came with the case no not to sure 200mm
1 Xigmatek F1256. 140mm
1 Standard Coolermaster 200mm fan not sure what that one is rated at.

all I know use 12v so not sure on everything else. Newegg doesn't have that info listed unfortunately.

All on a HAF XM case.

I have 4 main ones, but added a 5th tiny 40mm on the Northbridge if that counts.

I have 13 fans in my case..

2x Front grill NF-P12, 0.09A
2x HDD Cage NF-P12, 0.09A
1x Bottom SP120 Quiet, 0.08A
1x Rear AF120, 0.13A
2x Left Side Panel AF-140, 0.1A.
1x Right Side Panel AP-121, 0.09A (modded my case to do this)
4x Top NF-F12, 0.5A (In push/pull with my cooler)

or 15 fans if we count both of the Motherboard fans.. =).

I cant tell you the current used but can tell you the cfm.
Antec 900 case with 200mm top fan and 4 120mm fans (2 front, 1 side incoming, 1 rear).
CPU is externally watercooled and gfx card has an Accelero Xtreme III cooler.

The 200mm fan runs at 400rpm (83cfm), 600rpm (108cfm) or 800rpm (134cfm).
I use 400rpm.
The 120mm fans run at 1200rpm (39cfm), 1600rpm (56cfm) or 2000rpm (79cfm).
I use 1200rpm

2 silent 80mm fans blow on my ram and on the motherboard vrm heatsinks.
Not because they get hot, but to keep everything so cool I can forget about them no matter what I do.
They are a failsafe to make sure I dont compromise the life of my system when overclocking.

All case fans are on slowest and are easily enough cooling.
Incoming = 117cfm
Outgoing = 122cfm
