Large Hadron Collider Chamber Music

I don't mean to be a dick, but is this really a wise investment of monies in this sort of endeavor. This is supposed to be hard science, not indulgent displays of money mismanagement.
 
I don't see how expensive this little event can be, they are physicist involved in this experiment project, not professional musicians hired to play the instruments to make this video.
