Another large piece of Yahoo history is becoming just that; history. Yahoo announced on Friday that the Yahoo Directory will be retired on January 31st For any and all of you that remember, this was the signature product of a young startup company that built Yahoo into the company it is today.

Over the last two years, Yahoo has shut down more than 60 products and services in a bid to do fewer things better. The directory has escaped previous culls, but has finally been deemed surplus to requirements.

Good ol' Yahoo Directory. Getting a website listed on it and DMOZ were major goals for search engine ranking back in the day.
 
If I had known this still existed recently, I probably would have been using it.
Not joking.
 
Oh, I remember that... seemed maybe I used it once, then used search engine instead... or was there engine back then just using the directory?

anyways, now I see dmoz... ahh, it brings back memories of before google
