Hi everyone,
I recently purchased this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833315091
Since it was cheap and it had awesome reviews.
I needed it for my desktop (specs in sig), however it is VERY slow.
I ran several speed tests to see if i could find the issue, but i'm getting bizarre results.
speedtest.net results
Edimax on desktop
Download: 0.5-4 Mbps (noticed diff speeds depending on which usb port used)
Upload: 1-5 Mbps
My roommate's Medialink wireless N usb adapter on desktop
Download: 15-20 Mbps
Upload: 5-6 Mbps
Edimax on laptop thinkpad x1 carbon (disabled internal wifi on laptop)
Download: 6-12 Mbps
Upload: 3-6 Mbps
Internal wifi on laptop
Download: 15-20 Mbps
Upload: 5-6 Mbps
Does this tell me anything? I tried switching usb ports on my desktop and that does vary the speed from what i can tell, but it's still pretty slow compared to what i should be getting for a wireless N adapter.
Any conclusions or things I could try?
I'm unable to stream 720p movies from my laptop to my desktop without issues.
Thanks
