Cord Cutters are getting more in the way of incentive to stay completely free of cable TV with a new product currently on Kickstarter. If you like Picture in Picture, you’ll love 4SeTV, which is basically PiP X 4.

People actually used PiP / had a need to watch more than one thing at once?

Never understood that. (including those things where you watch 8 football games at once... really?)

It makes sense for sports when they decide to have all the games at the same time.

Their kickstarter isn't going to succeed, but it's a little suspicious half their current funds are from four people willing to pay $2,000 to have dinner with them.

Yea I can see those into sports liking this. I don't even use PiP though myself.

I can see it come handy if you can put 4 different genres of porn to run at the same time. Tickle all the fetishes if you have some. Not that I would do something like that (insert Conan O'Brien hair shake).

Well PiP is/was useful when you're swapping between two games or what not, and this was pre-DVR days so there was no rewinding on the fly if you missed something.

Of course the problem with PiP is that for services that required a receiver per TV that was viewed like DirecTV PiP was useless, I'm not sure if cable made that useless when they started needing digital decoder boxes.

I could probably find uses for this on Sundays like today, swtiching between 2 NFL games, Golf, and Tennis. Actually if the Verizon Fios box would let me loop 4 channels with 1 button that would work too. But right now it only lets you bounce between 2 channels without killing your DVR commerical buffer.

NO EDIT, come on Hardforum!

I was going to say I considered hooking up an OTA antenna today to try to split screen the football games... but then I remembered I wasn't a gambling addict (so my sponsor says, anyway).

I won't hate on it but it's definitely not my cup of tea. I have a couple TV's.

Look at all the gamers with multiple monitors who can't play without having a show or movie or facebook on. I call it short attention span theater.

What if I were to watch four Michael Bay movies simultaneously.

It is PIP but much better. PIP was good idea except remote control was pain and didn't like PIP covering part of main screen. 4SeTV solve this issue and doing 4 programs. Yesterday was perfect day for it. There were 2 college football games, tennis match and MLB at same time!

The biggest problem for this product when it comes to sports is that it only works with OTA. Outside of the NFL and college football most sports are shown on cable channels. I mean you have your NBA game of the week on ABC and MLB game of the week of Fox but other than that it is all regional cable networks, ESPN, and TNT.

There was an interesting project I came across a while back named Sinderon Media Player. I started a thread which showed my use. When I talked to support they seemed eager to add features I was looking for but lacked funding. Wonder if they are still around and if kickstarter is an option so they can give it a more polished finish.

That's an interesting product. It only runs on powerful PC. If it can only encode as a single stream, you can push the content to big screen TV as well. But then, that's what 4SeTV is doing in $99 box.
