When you or I are caught using malware it's a crime. When the FBI does it they are simply using it as a tool. :rolleyes:

Online anonymity is a beautiful, terrible thing, so naturally governments and law enforcement types are eager to see what happens behind the web's closed doors. Naturally, that includes the folks at the FBI: According to Wired, the FBI has been using "network investigative techniques" -- like highly specific, purpose-built malware -- to help peel back popular anonymizing service Tor's layers of obscurity to catch criminals.

if i forge money, i get some jail time (after getting tasered a few times). if banks create money out of thin air by typing it into a computer, they get more of it by interest. some things just aren't logical.

Even talking smack about the FBI can get you in trouble they have L33T PC armed with Malwarbytes.

...except, if someone wanted to do exactly as those researchers just did; crawl all .onion addresses to make a darknet map... Seems like a project any compsci student could think of for a project, or do it for fun anyway.

but, it makes prosecution easier if you just claim that no one could possibly end up on one of those sites by accident... just stick with that fantasy, FBI. :rolleyes:

I hope you don't actually believe this. I won't say that the government is awesome, or even always 'good' but for any government to function, particularly any government that holds territories rich in resources, it has to be able to defend itself.

People always lose sight on why government exists, and will continue to exist regardless of what anyone does.

You are correct that government requires force to exist. Any fundamentally violent and coercive institution will have to use force to continue its existence.

Government exists due to historical momentum, not due to it being in the best interest of humanity. You are probably right that it will always exist, because people such as yourself cannot think consistently and clearly about the matter.

The initiation of force is wrong, regardless of who is perpetrating it. There are no exceptions for men in magical suits.

its very existence is a contradiction. An organization based on the violation of individual liberty cannot legitimately be considered a protector of individual liberty.

I can't believe how many conversations I've been involved in since the 70's talking about Orwells 1984 and how it would never happen because the public was aware of the danger. Welcome to 1984 kiddies and you are allowing it to happen because of your pathetic apathy. You get what you deserve. Or you could just go out and vote in the mid-term elections first Tuesday in November and tell the oligarchs to kiss your ass. Good luck America. I used to do a grilled chicken that I called Phoenix. It involved roasting habaneros, creating a sauce with them, but also rubbing the gooey roasted peppers onto the chicken itself as well. Pretty damned hot. I stopped making it when I got an inordinately hot one, and everyone (including myself) that ate it got actual blisters from it. Yikes!

Anyway... :D

You would be suprised, having recently gone through High School and College, I can vividly remember all of the super left winged crap they would spew all over the place and would talk about how it is fact and the way things should be, all of course hidden behind their lecture. Anyone who wasn't dumb could see it.

Govt exists to SERVE the people who elected it, its not a separate entity with its own needs, wants and agenda.

This is what the US has become, our govt is rich, the elite are rich, they run this country with their only goal to increase their power and take more form those beneath them.
