ADATA® Technology, a leading manufacturer of high-performance DRAM modules and NAND Flash application products, today launches the Premier DDR4 2133 Unbuffered DIMM memory, which supports the latest Intel® Haswell-E platform for extreme performance. Thanks to the benefits of DDR4 and rigorous production of ADATA, the DDR4 2133 U-DIMM memory module is the best upgrade solution for PC DIY users.

Faster Data Transfer, Higher Power Efficiency
With speeds of up to 2133MHz and a transfer bandwidth reaching 17GB/s, the Premier DDR4 2133 Unbuffered DIMM provides greater efficiency of data transfer than previous generations of DRAM. Compared to DDR3, DDR4 memory features faster clock frequencies and lower power consumption. Running at just 1.2 volts, the new DDR4 2133 Unbuffered DIMM can save 20% of the power making it an environmentally friendly component. In desktop PCs, the advantages of DDR4 will lead to lower costs and improved overall performance.

Who writes these announcements? DDR4 is not what I consider an upgrade. You will need a new motherboard, CPU and ram to use DDR4 that on a new platform which the only platform this year will be for Haswell-E and its xeon version. Also I thought that DDR4 2133 would be the lowest speed grade produced for DDR4.

It's marketing... that's how it works. And honestly, as much fluff as these announcements are, at least progress is being made, however slowly it may seem. For as much as we bitch about stagnation in the PC Market, at least things are starting to roll a bit again.

Speaking of DDR4 and the Haswell-E rollout -- does anyone know what the maximum memory will be for these platforms? I know it will handle 64GB but will it be able to handle 128GB?

Thanks!

Hoss, they're written to make shareholders happy and stock go up.

Always has been, always will.

In 4 one ...

.... in a few years :)

Exactly that. DDR4 is a non-issue for anybody for several years at least as far as performance is concerned. All the hardware review articles I've read over the years state that RAM speed does nothing to improve system performance period! Nothing! Well ok, except for AMD's APU's 3D performance.

I'm excited. However, I'll probably go with Corsair RAM unless I see something a lot better.

Been waiting to upgrade for a long while, and this new platform and DDR4 looks great.
