A new report out today says that most people in the UK are deciding against installing government backed porn filters. Shocking!

The vast majority of new broadband customers in the UK are opting out of "child friendly" filters when prompted to install them by service providers. The industry watchdog Ofcom found fewer than one in seven households installed the feature, which is offered by BT, Sky, TalkTalk and Virgin Media.

My ISP (Xilo) never asked me to install one of these filters. Just another reason why I prefer small ISPs to the larger ones.

Is the United Kingdom seriously run by Mary Poppins now?

UK, where are your BALLS??!?! You guys used to have one of the most awe inspiring empires in the world, now you are just a tiny island with crappy weather, bland food, bad teeth, and the ultimate nanny state.

Know what the saddest part of this is? It's the fact that the people taking the statistics by household, and only including one system per household. These days, people have multiple systems per household, and the users could be installing it on some computers and not others, yet the statistics just show that one system didn't install it and count it as one household. The people making these statistics are pitiful.

Just keep making those awesome Doctor Who shows and I don't care what you do over there. Oh, and bring back "Outcasts" as it was turning out to be a fantastic sci-fi.

wait, so can british people actually go to porn sites or not? i thought it was illegal?

From what I understand, porn filter isn't mandatory, users are allowed to op out of it.

Unsurprisingly, many chose to op out.
