New Mapping Software Gives You the Scenic Route

Any old mapping software can pretty much get you from point A to point B in the fastest time possible, but how about the ones who want to take a more scenic route and enjoy the trip fully? Yahoo has begun developing software that will give the laid-back traveler an alternative route off the beaten path.

The recommended routes would only be about 12% longer than the shorter but less attractive routes, and they would take into account the emotional feel of a place.

Sounds to me like they couldn't actually work out a good way to make an optimized route so they just started calling it a feature lol

Hasn't Apple Maps been doing this awhile?
