This could be really handy....and not just for editing porn either. :D

LiveLight constantly evaluates action in a video, looking for visual novelty and ignoring repetitive or eventless sequences, to create a summary that enables a viewer to get the gist of what happened. What it produces is a miniature video trailer.

encode video with VBR, cut out sections that are under a certain bitrate, save again?

don't they use something similar to this when movies have been "Compressed for running length" ... so that 1hr40 minute movie gets squeezes to 1hr 15 minutes so they can throw in a bunch more commercials.

Ahhhh so that's why whenever I try to play a pewdiepie video it goes right to the end.

Hollywood does this already. they cut all the funny jokes out of a movie and turn it into a trailer.

Don't you mean, include the only 3 good minutes of footage for a trailer, and then 75 minutes of crap for the rest of the movie?

Usually yes. But I noticed that in 22 Jump Street all the funny parts in the trailers were cut out of the movie.

That's usually a good sign though.

What is engaging in a movie is entirely subjective, so these scientists aren't as smart as they think they are.

editing porn.
haha. You do that too?

I've been cutting out the non-action parts, otherwise my hdd would fill up too fast. Fucking pornographers don't know how to edit shit.

One of my friends has recorded every single porn tape he has ever rented. He has an entire storage unit, full of bankers boxes, full of 8-hour VHS tapes, full of porn.

Sadly, this is probably the only way ill get my ADHD friend to watch Game of Thrones and Battlestar Galactica. He is a Spartacus and Stargate SG-1 fan.

I couldn't even make it though the first episode of game of thrones.

It wasn't the boring-ness, it was just the shock of having characters introduced, given a family and back story, and then senselessly killed immediately after. If it was just a one-off I could accept it, but building up new characters, getting the viewer to connect with them emotionally, and then brutally murdering them, seems to be the main plot theme behind the entire series.

If everyone dies, what is the point of even caring what happens?

There is exactly zero character deaths in the first episode.

Important characters do die sometimes, but they aren't senseless. Every major character death affects the story in meaningful and often major ways. If it werent for the death for the first main character (wont name any names in case some of you havent watched GoT), then the batttle for the iron throne would be much shorter and less intriguing. The deaths creates a rippling effect of consequences which is all part of the 'game of thrones', if you will.

But the thing is that there is no central character in GoT thrones and very few black and white characters. People die as they do in real life, regardless of whether they are good or bad or in between. In that way, it is more realistic than most TV shows that are often biased for the good guys or towards the central character.
