A Secure SSD Controlled By Your Smartphone

Good concept, however it should be using mSATA SSD drives in custom cases.

MUCH smaller size to fit in pockets/phone.

Same features, Same speeds, Nearly same size of storage.

well the encryption is way to low for a portal drive should be 2K. But looks like a really cool idea.

If the NSA didn't have access to all or phones already, I'd say this is a good idea.

And what happends when someone hacks your android phone?

Using something that is not secure to secure another device doesn't sound like a well thought out idea to me.

Sorry, but I'm not about to trust my data to an eminently insecure, easily damaged dongle like a cell phone. Especially since it's possible that a system update on the phone could render the "secured" data irretrievable.

secure and phone in the same sentence ??

My thoughts exactly. Would be far more secure to install a keypad on the enclosure and give the user options implemented in hardware that he can verify with a passcode.

I can already see the user needing to wipe his phone due to some Android malware lol.
