If you have ever been in the military, you know how much information about you and your family is stored in your military personnel records. For 16K US Army personnel that is now a compromised nightmare after the database was hacked on May 28th.

Specific details of how the 28 May raid was launched were not disclosed, but banking details and classified data was not compromised.

Unfortunately, military personnel records are compromised all the time. In the 10 years I was in the Air Force mine were personally compromised 3 times, 2 of which resulted in identity theft.

Ya, it sucks too. I have worked IA in the military and admin types put more effort in securing their lunch than they do other peoples information.
