NASA Developing Unique Robotic Satellite Refueling System

NASA has been working on a refueling system for satellites that weren’t meant to be refueled for the past three years. The idea is simple: save millions by effectively extending the working life of existing satellites.

By developing robotic capabilities to repair and refuel GEO satellites, NASA said it hopes to add years of functional life to satellites and expand options for operators who face unexpected emergencies, tougher economic demands and aging fleets
