Unreal Engine 4.1 Adds Linux, SteamOS and Console Support

I'd just like to see a game that actually uses 4.x.

Game technology has really been stagnating. jcarmack had the right timing to call it quits.

Be interested to see someone run that Elemental Demo and report back on the performance on current hardware.

There's none because it dev kit didn't support consoles. Now that they do, it will come. Pretty sure the new Batman game use ue3 again because ue4 wasn't available for console before. There's a couple of indies coming tought..

Well, this makes sense. This engine is definitely going to be on PS4, and PS4 uses the FreeBSD based OrbisOS which is Binary Compatible with Linux and OSX. With PS4 dominating this generation(in consoles at least) and SteamOS getting a push, I see a lot more Linux games incomming...nVidia and AMD better be ready.

So then its not gonna be MS D3D crap?

Open GL based engine?

Good, maybe we will see Red Orchestra 3 on Steam OS.

Good bye winbloze if this happens

Ok wtf if its free why does it ask for 19$?

Where are the free demos of this masterpiece???
