THIS THREAD HAS MOVED TO http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1831064

Information:
  • I accept non-CC PayPal and Western Union (must confirm successful withdrawal first)
  • My HeatWare ID is BlueToast
  • I am very much open to offers and price negotiations, but don't jerk with me on lowballing; the prices listed below are good starting points for bartering
  • Shipments will be coming from ZIP code 65807 / city of Springfield, MO with the choices of FedEx and UPS
  • If you want insurance on shipments please let me know but I will need you to pay the extra
  • [As of 2014/4/26] The number of years of [H] membership = % discount (ex. 7.7 years = 7.7% off on anything except items that are free but require payment for shipping)
  • Some contents of this thread are also posted at http://springfield.craigslist.org/sys/4441556237.html if you live in the local Springfield, MO area
  • [As of 2014/4/30] Minimum order of 25 USD to qualify for shipping costs included. I haven't been ordered anything from Amazon lately so boxes to reduce shipping costs have come harder to find :(

I'm almost done offloading data from my 6TB RAID6 (5x2TB). After that I will make a final Acronis backup + P2V VMDK of my C: OS SSD --> full wipe SSD once --> disband RAID6 array and run dban for 7 passes on each 2TB drive --> open up the other stuff in this thread for sale.

I really hope that I will be able to at least get 2200 USD out of all this. It will cost me about that much to replace this system with...

  • Intel NUC outfitted with Intel WiFi card, 480GB Intel 730-series SSD, 2x8GB RAM
  • High-end Synology with 2x4TB Enterprise-grade HDDs in RAID1
  • UPS
I want to do this to achieve a simpler setup that uses less electricity and requires far less maintenance and significantly reduced potential financial hits due to component failures.

Press CTRL+A to select all text in the web-page, it will make it easier to read the black text.

EDIT: I flip flopped the color coding to make it easier. The reason I did it as black-gray instead of gray-black was because I think most people use gray to indicate an item being sold, so I think I was trying to not fall into that to prevent people being confused point blanc.

Informational
The WD Enterprise drives are an upgrade from WD Red drives featuring a chassis that handles vibrations even better and for both performance and reliability -- hence the 5 year warranty. I like to think of WD Enterprise drives as Black+Red drives combined allowing you to use these drives in a RAID array, 24/7, and have the performance (or similar) to WD Black drives. These drives do come at a premium price over all other drives.

In my RAID6 5x2TB array, I sometimes get write speeds 200-250 MB/s but at the very least I get performance equal to or exceeding a single WD Black drive, and read speeds upwards of 300-350 MB/s.
