The recording industry may be celebrating a victory today but you and I both know that Google won't take this lying down.

Music collecting society and anti-piracy group GEMA has scored a big victory in its long-running battle with Google-owned YouTube. A court has ordered the video giant to remove blocking messages which claim GEMA is to blame for thousands of videos being unavailable in Germany on copyright grounds.

I say Google should block all IPs coming from GEMA.

No youtube or google for anybody at GEMA.

So, they aren't even allowed to say WHO the block comes from now?

So, I guess this is to avoid retaliation for pulling shenanigans with questionable IP claims? Or what?

On Twitter there's a funny suggestion: YouTube should just say that they are not allowed to say WHO is the reason for blocking videos because the Munich court agreed with the view of GEMA.

I think this was a correct decision.
If its so much trouble for youTube, how about just vanquishing the material, no message, no nothing. The money they want is not realistic at all. Thats is probably what they charge per play at a radio station I guess. But each radio play could equate over a million hits in youtube.
