Guess who is getting a big fat lump of coal in their stocking this year?

A children’s advocacy group says an animated video on the NORAD Tracks Santa website injects militarism into Christmas by showing fighter jets escorting Santa’s sleigh. It’s a rare swipe at the popular program, which last year attracted a record 22.3 million unique visitors from around the world to its website.

lol, the imagination some people have:eek:

I see that merely as a light hearted joke.

well.. hopefully those same people never watch the colbert report when he does those segments where santa gets shot down..LOL

I swear, some people have nothing better to do than to get offended at non offensive shit. So many bigger problems and people waste their energy on stupid shit.

Yes, our poor children are being indoctrinated with the warmongering neoconservative agend-are you fucking kidding me???

the untold trillions spent on imaginary people... and I'm not just talking about Santa Claus.

Yeah, some are even going crazy at the idea that not everyone approves of weapons & violence ruining a symbol of peace & giving.

Then ignore it and stop trying to police speech and expression. If it didn't ruin it in the last 40+ years, why would it be ruined this year? Sorry, you can't control the world with your manufactured sense of outrage.

The only good things that happened in the last 40 years were indoor plumbing, electrical power, and those feet you can stick under furniture so that they're easier to slide over the floor.

We should all instead cover our eyes and pretend the military doesn't exist. Some people need to quit taking themselves so seriously.

Lighten the fuck up Francis.

When (any) government takes a public ritual and applies their policies to it, is that still considered "freedom of speech and expression"?

If this is the same clip they played on No Agenda, this isn't mearly some 20 second promo to have fun, that's whats news stations do on Christmas Eve. This was a several minute "advertisement" for the capabilities of North America's capabilities.

I am not outraged by it in slightest, but it was awkward enough that it can only be seen an propaganda.

It's not paid for via tax dollars. I don't see why people would be upset. It's just a fun/funny way of celebrating Christmas.

Yes. When I go to NORADsanta.org I certainly don't expect to see anything about NORAD.

Why does Santa need a fighter escort?

If Santa turns out to be Black, do the fighters stand their ground and open fire?

Wouldn't the jet engine sounds frighten the Reindeer ... well, at least Prancer?

Liberals, taking a break from dismantling the constitution to screw up the holidays for everyone

Actually, it would be pretty much impossible for Santa to have an escort of F-16 jets.

#1. They can travel nowhere near the speed of Santa's sleigh.
#2. They do not have the maneuverability of Santa's sleigh.
#3. Nobody but Santa and his reindeer can withstand the g-forces that accompany #1 and #2.
#4. They would run out of fuel.

Actually, they're F-104 Starfighters. They're not sending Hornets to protect a fat man.

What would the effect be, if people said stupid things and didn't get any attention?

How else are we supposed to protect Santa from the terrorists?

Uh, don't you mean the fighters would make absolutely sure not to notice if Santa did something, lest they be accused of "profiling"?

Right.. we're all being tracked... just some of us don't have jet fighter escorts ;)
