If you are in the market for a new motherboard, I recommend giving HotHardware's MSI Z87 motherboard roundup the once over.
The Z87 chipset goes hand-in-hand with Intel’s 4th-generation Haswell processors, and we outfitted the three MSI boards--the tiny Z87I, the Z87-G45 Gamer, and the Z87 MPOWER Max overclocker--with an Intel Core i7-4770K (3.5 GHz) CPU to see how the trio performs.
I am quite fond of my Z87 G45-Gaming. It may not have the best of anything, but it certainly is "good enough" for most users.
I would prefer an Intel NIC instead of Killer, but I have to run wireless right now so it doesn't matter much in the end. (I do have powerline ethernet available, but wireless seems to work just as well so I moved my powerline adapter elsewhere).
