Circle Raises $9 Million to Take Bitcoin Mainstream

Some heavy hitters got together this week and raised close to $9M dollars, forming a new startup called simply Circle. The startup will fundamentally be an instrument to make the use of Bitcoins and other digital currencies simpler to use for both consumers and merchants alike.

As he sees it, the Bitcoin industry lacks a certain amount of "sophisticated" entrepreneurs and capital, which leaves an opening for a well-funded, experienced startup to take hold.
