Levitating Superconductor On A Möbius Strip

Would he stop playing with his high tech lego set and invent some super-high temperature superconductor... like one where I can stick it in the freezer for a couple hours and bam superconductor!

Room temperature superconductor would mean cpu that don't generate heat since there would be no resistance.

Neat, but is this useful outside of academic demonstration?

wow, only three replies into the thread and this idiot comment pops up. he even explained it for the not so bright people. it's one step on a long way to improve our understanding of superconducting materials. -180 degrees is already a great improvement over where research started out at close to absolute zero. if scientists can push this a bit more, the outcome will revolutionize technology. it may take a few decades, maybe it's not possible at all to get really high temperature super conductivity, but we'll never know if we just focus on what we imagine to be useful right now. why do we need art? or anything else other than basic food and water?

but apparently the only thing people want science to deliver is sex bots.

true very high temp might no happen, but this field of research is awesome.
Many things on this crazy tech and others are going to be dependent on enormous energy use... If fusion would happen in a big way.. I don't see a problem too see a future where high tech, hi-energy use is not an issue, but common place... we are not going to run out of hydrogen, maybe in a few billion years.

You're assuming you could make a CPU out of super conductors. Remember CPUs are mostly made out of silicon a SEMIconductor. We don't want a pure conductor in cases like this.

temperature

There's a lot of doping materials that alter the conductivity of the substrate, and lot of conductive material (copper still?) that's used to create the circuits within the CPU. If some kind of superconducting materials were used in those roles, then power efficiency would be greatly improved.
