wow, only three replies into the thread and this idiot comment pops up. he even explained it for the not so bright people. it's one step on a long way to improve our understanding of superconducting materials. -180 degrees is already a great improvement over where research started out at close to absolute zero. if scientists can push this a bit more, the outcome will revolutionize technology. it may take a few decades, maybe it's not possible at all to get really high temperature super conductivity, but we'll never know if we just focus on what we imagine to be useful right now. why do we need art? or anything else other than basic food and water?

Room temperature superconductor would mean cpu that don't generate heat since there would be no resistance.
You're assuming you could make a CPU out of super conductors. Remember CPUs are mostly made out of silicon a SEMIconductor. We don't want a pure conductor in cases like this.
