A press conference has been called for Monday by Steve Ballmer and Mark Hurd to announce the new partnership between Microsoft and Oracle, supposedly involving collaboration on a new cloud infrastructure database.

But Microsoft is where it gets interesting, as we think the partnership could involve Oracle 12c becoming available on Windows Azure. This would be momentous, given Microsoft's heavy investment in SQL Server.

and it's probably the dumbest move Oracle could make. Microsoft doesn't "partner" with companies. It either takes them over or just steals their technology.

SQL Server > Oracle

But then again SQL itself is crap and ancient.

Two of the most unethical companies in the tech world partnering. All that is missing is Apple and then you have an "axis of evil".

So you're saying that Microsoft is going to take over AMD now that AMD powers their X-Box One?
