Judge: Netflix Does Not Infringe Rovi Patents

I'll bet the folks at Netflix are breathing a sigh of relief after the ITC handed down this preliminary decision.

Internet video streaming service Netflix Inc does not infringe Rovi Corp patents for interactive television program guides, an International Trade Commission judge said on Monday in a preliminary decision. The full commission will issue a final decision in the case in October.

Who would sue netflix for their UI? IMO it is pretty horrible severely limiting access to their content unless using their website.

I am not saying netflix has a ton of hidden content but I know they have more then 1500 movies/shows which is pretty much the limit for their current UI. 75 items per row... about 20 unique rows.

I am amazed how often the "new releases" or "new on netlix: don't change. Their site has always been this way even back in the DVD only days. You would think that those lists would completely change at least twice a week but they don't. No wonder people think netflix doesn't have any content.
