Google Facial Password Patent Aims to Boost Android Security

Google has created a solution to the glitch found last year in its facial recognition unlocking software: all you have to do is add live facial expressions like stick out your tongue, grimace or generally make a fool of yourself to complete the authentication. It all works well in theory and is quite entertaining to watch, but the actual implementation of a foolproof facial recognition system is still some time away.

It says the check would work by comparing two images taken from a captured video stream of the user's face to see if the difference between them showed the gesture had been made.
