Enough with the ‘i’ patents, Apple. This is getting ridiculous. :D Apple has filed for patents on a full range of virtual currency technology to put the company in the new virtual payment market alongside Google, PayPal and the other virtual payment concerns.

Apple is late to the virtual wallet game, a market that is led by long-time payments innovator PayPal, but one that relative newcomers MasterCard, Visa, and Google desperately want to own.

Apple still late to the game, this would of annihilated google wallet if they dropped it while the iphone was #1.

They're probably looking at BitCoins and trying to figure out how to gain ownership.

iMoney sounds stupid, some stuff sounds goood with "i", but money isn't one of them.

I'd rather trust the shady russian bitcoin/USD exchanges before I turned apple lose with my "iMoney"

This might have been an important patent -- 5 years ago.

Seriously though -- how are they able to patent and idea, and the MULTIPLE systems that function exactly like their proposed system would? is that single character 'i' in front of a common word like "money" so damn important to tie up our corrupt and useless patent office?

How about the...

... for being such dicks Apple?:eek::cool:

I'm not going to waste electrons pointing out how stupid this is on 100 levels.

Agreed. I'd rather deal with Bitcoins, which are basically organized crime money, than Apple. Maybe Apple ought to think about why that is.

Hello,

My firm of DoWeCheat Um And Howe LLC. represent Apple in the lawsuit we are filing for trademark infringement on the iPunchYou marking. We are prepared to settle out of court for the reasonable sum of $11ty billion USD.

Sincerely,

....

This makes me want to take an "iShit".... Lay my head on an "iPillow", eat "iFood", .......

iMasturbate.... No patents on that........ Wait....... Never mind.........

I guess this is a good move for them since they'd have leverage to undermine Bitcoins. I don't like the idea of them getting to patent something that is already around, but Bitcoins are just for drugs and child porn so, as far as I care, Apple can sue them and anyone using them straight into being poor so they can't buy their way out of their crimes.

Once again, crApple patents something they didn't invent.

WTF are u talking about. People might have used money before, but NOBODY has done it the Apple way! :indignant shaking of head at you: We just are going to steal Google Wallet's design and apply glass theme on it and patent that bitch! How you like me now biyatch?
