Too bad, aside from the fact that the higher the resolution, the slower the image capture, so it can get prohibitively expensive to get a high-resolution, high-speed camera? Maybe those mathematicians sometimes have budgets like the rest of us?

what? This was a mathematical simulation no camera was used.
 
This isn't accurate enough. You don't see the bubble actually popping, but rather just disappearing and the concussive force generated by the 'pop' spreading throughout the bubble matrix to the rest of the bubbles.
