A deal was announced this week between Lorne Michaels and Yahoo to give Yahoo exclusive access to all material from SNL going back to 1975. Presently the exclusivity deal is only valid for one year, but it looks like Yahoo is planning a much longer run with the material. Exactly what the plans are for the use the almost 40 years of Saturday Night Live has yet to be announced by Yahoo.

The deal isn’t good news for everyone; clarified in an otherwise-undisclosed terms, other sites will be forced to remove SNL library material to ensure that Yahoo’s online exclusivity remains intact.

Irrelevant company buys irrelevant TV show.

Both are trying their very best to get attention. How cute.

I watch SNL every now and then on Hulu when I have nothing else to do or watch. I bet Yahoo yanks if from them right away.

That would be news if SNL was something important. They have sucked hard for 20 years.

Their old stuff is now overused to the point of cliche.

Waste of time. It WAS funny shit back then.

It's a shame it's not Youtube, then maybe someone would watch it. MadTV was better and still got canned.

In other news, Google buys Yahoo for a buck forty-nine.
