Torn between desk solutions

Hi Guys! This is my first post on these forums which I've been lurking around for quite some time now! The thing is that I'm torn between two very contrasting solutions to a flight/racing/work space environment. On one hand there are the obutto cockpits which according to my intensive research, would attain to all my needs. I have a CH HOTAS and a Logitech G27 set which the obutto can accommodate to the fullest extent. But on the other there is the much cheaper alternative of getting a sturdy ikea galant desk and using that to accustom my requirements and save me a ton of money. However, this solution wouldn't provide the gaming comfort that the obutto does. So, any suggestions?

Looks great and the price is somewhat reasonable, but there is no way in hell I could work in one of those due to the way the seat inclines and the lack of flat surface space
