I have a budget of 550$ and am having a hard time deciding between lenovo ideapad z585 and Toshiba satellite S855D-S5148.

I like that the Lenovo supposedly has. Dual gpu. But the Toshiba has a better processor and more ram to start with. Which one would be better for gaming and a better value ?

Lenovo Ideapad Z585

Toshiba Satellite S855D-S5148

If I got the Lenovo I would buy an extra 4gb ram stick , also the Toshiba seems to have about 2 hours less battery life than the Lenovo. I'm just looking for the best. Gaming value. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is the laptop that I considered (well, recently considered) last week: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215663

It was on sale for $499. It's back up to $529.

Both this and the Lenovo are similar-- both have 7670M for dual graphics.

The difference I see is that the Lenovo has 2GB VRAM for it, whereas the Acer has 1GB only. That and the Acer has a better web cam if that's important.

Seeing that the Lenovo is $499 at Newegg right now and has more VRAM on the 7670M, I'd go with the Lenovo and add another 4GB of DDR3 1600 RAM for $30.

i would stay far away from acer myself, have had nothing but issues with the brand. Lenovo i've had much better luck with (running an x201 currently and it's taken a few 6ft drops and is working solid still)

to each their own though and it's all personal preference/experience
