Crime supposedly doesn’t pay, but you are going to have a tough time convincing a tech-savvy, poker-playing cheat of that fact. Not only did he manage to gain control of the casino’s internal cable surveillance cameras and use them to his playing advantage, the casino put him in a $30K a night comp villa to facilitate the feat.

"Crown's surveillance department recently reported concerns over a sophisticated betting scam. A Crown investigation is under way and is ongoing," said a Crown spokesman. The company is "in a good position to recover a significant portion of the amount involved in the scam."

IIRC, in poker, the house gets a small percentage of the pot. !0% dunno.

So the other gamblers who lost $30m are the ones he should be worried about.

People have "disappeared" for a lot less than $1m theft.

Been reading a lot about this incident, and what I was able to gather was this: Apparently according to the experts with what little evidence presented to them by the casino, suggested that they took advantage of one of the Black Jack tables by counting the cards, rather than cheating at the poker table because this isn't the world series of poker where they put camera's on the side of the table so it can peek at your deck. And the casino has neglected to mention that the VIP room house more than just poker tables in itself.

Casino's are notorious for being shrewd and tone deaf when it comes to bad PR and being scammed like this. So naturally they'll be very vague when it comes to the details of the crime. But yea, they got fucked over dirty....

I hope they don't have to pay a penny back screw the casinos they steal from people 24/7

So the people weren't hiding their hole cards very well? Because yeah as mentioned it'd be silly to have the cards viewable via table cameras, that just asks for problems.

Hilarious.

I think the Casino deserves to be scammed, but not the other players.

Someone's going to turn up *missing* in some time.

Over the course of eight hands the team fleeced the opposition to the tune of $33m.
33 million in only eight hands? Holy fuck that's a lot of money on the table being played each hand. Can't say I really give a shit if they lose their money, though I'm not sure I would want to be stealing from people who throw that sort of cash around like it's nothing (at least not where they can see my face :D).
