Apple reads and censors your mail and attachments? Why would anyone put up with that? How's a guy supposed to have any barely legal teenage fun?

Apple iCloud mail deletes messages and attachments that contain unsavoury internet phrases. Apple's iCloud email service deletes all emails that contain the phrase "barely legal teen" it was revealed today. Macworld has tested this by sending two test emails from a personal iCloud account. The message read "My friend's son is already allowed to drive his high-powered car. It's ridiculous. He's a barely legal teenage driver? What on earth is John thinking."

Aggressive spam filter. Any spam filter can be set up to automatically reject porn-related titles.

I was wondering why I sent an email a few weeks ago with some web site links to a friend and it never went through.....

I can come up with plenty of better reasons to hate apple, other than spam filters.

It isn't just a spam filter ... it is actually deleting, not filing in a spam folder. The message (apparently) never leaves your email to arrive at the other guy. The filtering is on the "send" end, not the arrival. Otherwise, you could send to a non-apple account and it would go through fine. It doesn't, according to what I've read today.

Man, Apple is so cool!

This is why I always (read: NEVER) buy Apple products and violently defend them on PC-centric forums across the many and varied depths of the interwebs!

It's very common for e-mail services to let some spam "die on the vine". False positives are a fact of life with this stuff, so it's just a matter of minimizing them and fixing them as they arise. And yes, this have been fixed.

My brother has better spam filters than this crap for his business.

Let's hope no business-sensitive emails are being filtered. How much would news of an upcoming advertising campaign or product design schematics be worth to a competitor of a sender?

I don't see what the big surprise is.

Like so many other things, my advice is.......just don't use it.

A user CAN be "modern" and still NOT use a big portion of the things that are out there. It's all just hipster crap that ends up creating problems.

This is why I don't do cloud. I run and maintain my own mail server and everything else. Anything that is blocked is blocked because I deliberately block it. Some 3rd party company should not be touching my data.

Though this just sounds like some spam filtering, but it should still be the user's choice.
