Intel Lab’s researchers explore how global environmental factors, including the explosion in world population combined with technological innovation will changing the ways we work in the future. A replay of a recent Intel Labs webcast is available as well as additional materials including infographic, whitepaper, presentation and blog on this research.
 
Funny they talk about an explosion of population when population growth is actually slowing down currently with most advanced countries seeing less than 2 children per couple being born, which is required to even maintain population levels.

Interesting fact that I did the math on not long ago, if you give every single person on earth a 3000 square foot house to live in, all of them will easily fit onto the land area of Greenland, and if you give every single person on Earth a one meter square area to stand in, they will barely cover one county in most states in the U.S. There really aren't as many people on Earth as most doomsayers make it out to be.
