Microsoft is trying to use the old Jedi mind trick in playing down the severity of an information leak in Internet Explorer as reported by Spider.io. Although Microsoft downplays the threat, the company is actively seeking a fix to the bug. “These are not the droids you are looking for.” :D

Yesterday, Microsoft downplayed the threat, noting -- as Spider.io had also charged -- that only a pair of advertising analytics companies have taken advantage of the bug.

This is so stupid...it's java and it's kind of designed to allow the exact type of interaction. Without java being able to respond to input devices, many things, like online games and remote management consoles, wouldn't exactly work across platforms.

I'll file this away in the 'so what' category, if you are dumb enough to load a 'malicious' java app that would hold mouse position information...well, you get what you deserve I guess. Someone is tracking your mouse movement...next thing you know they will be tracking what your eyes look at too...
