Details of the joint venture between Redbox and Verizon have been few and far between, but some sharp-eyed staffers at GigaOm spotted a mistakenly posted page containing some vital details on the upcoming service named Redbox Instant.

Verizon and Redbox owner Coinstar first announced plans for the joint venture back in February, which will combine Redbox DVD and Blu-ray rentals with an on-demand streaming and download service from Verizon. When it finally launches, the service will compete with alternatives from the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and HBO GO.

So this goes live on the 17th?

I'm interested.

So which content provider will now snatch up Netflix to compete with Verizon? Netflix cant compete with a content provider who probably has deals for all movies and tv out there with more than just the streaming revenue to pay for it.
