Finally, there is a reason to shop at Staples again.

A new service called “Staples Easy 3D” will allow customers to upload their designs to Staples’ website, then pick up the printed objects at their local office supply megastore, or have them shipped to their home or business — not unlike the photo- and document-printing service the company already offers.

First one to have them print a dildo wins.

Doesn't Pirate Bay offer downloads for printing 3D items? :)

Wont everyone print out guns and hold the store to ransom?

Plus picking up a naughty parts simulator would be kind of awkward? (which is what everyone does with them :p)

I can't wait until 3D printing is advanced enough to allow me to inexpensively print stuff like sammiches and salads so I don't have to risk hurting myself when I'm in the kitchen trying to open one of those plastic containers that those grocery store individually packaged salads come in. The sharp edges on those make cheap computer cases with filled with spikey-baked ISA video cards seem more huggable than a Furby.

They'll probably restrict the hell out of the service so anything that looks even remotely close someone's copyright or trademark is refused. I wouldn't be surprised if they also refused anything that looked "too professional" - like many photograph printers do. Anything "dangerous", obscene, or politically incorrect is out too, so no gun parts or dildos.

"It's part of the statue of David."

That might be kind of cool (though it sounds weird now :p) printing out a giant statue part by part. :D

You could always fall back on:

"It's for my friend! I know I know, he uses Lynx...! Yeeah I know...does it come in purple?"

I have purple statues around here already thanks. :D Though a new food dish for my kitty would be nice.

I wonder what the cost will be, while i see bongs and dongs. I don't see many people doing it if the cost is high, which i was expect to be high.

Stoners love fancy bongs.

And I'm sure... eh... fuck, I'll just say it this way "Dildo Connoisseurs".

Never thought I would see "dildo" and "connoisseur" in the same sentence...

Yeah... I know some people who collect them (I mean other people not a "my friend" way. :D Though the thing about the friend thing is the more you say it the more it looks like you...if you just go in and buy whatever, no one will care, but if you make stories...it's just an admission of guilt!)... There's also "special editions" of certain models...for a disturbing example, you know that Twilight film...

It's like with everything, enough of a market and you're going to get some specialism. Which Staples is trying to tap into.

The last thing anyone needs is a sex toy with bad taste. Also literally.

I do foresee a "print the silliest thing you can" competition. I'm looking forward to the pictures.

Staples is trying to tap into the vampire dong market?

Yes Staples I would like a BMW M3 printed. Why yes I do have the files needed to make one. ;)

The Iris printers employ an innovative method to generate objects, using reams of paper that are cut and printed while being stacked and glued together.

Just to temper expectations a little, they're printing things out of paper, not plastic.

Today: Print that paper model your favorite toy, dildo, statue, or celebrity.

Future: "I'd like a male/female with these specifications built within the hour... for reasons."
