Actually, Foxconn put the description of the iPhone in more distinct terms to show the frustration the giant Chinese company is experiencing in assembling the Apple iPhone. Forget all of the other problems Foxconn has experienced with its workers, it looks like the iPhone has been the root of the problem all along.

Foxconn stepped forward to take the fall in an interview with the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday. “The iPhone 5 is the most difficult device that Foxconn has ever assembled. To make it light and thin, the design is very complicated,”

Yeah I bet its really hard after working 16 hours straight with no breaks trying to meet unrealistic expectations...

maybe apple should make their own robot assembly line, esp since it makes a gazillion dollars from the iphone, and has so few configurations.

tired, human workers with pudgy fingers just can't compete with robots.

right now, chinese labor must be cheaper than building robots, so apple hasn't bothered yet. They are just barely meeting demand.

So what? It being a "pain" will likely have some effect on creating new processes to reduce how much of a pain it is.

In short: stop whining. You're making lots of money.

They are simply complaining about yield issues related to bringing the clamshells together. Also the screen might be giving them issues.

Shut up and get back to making phones. If you don't like it, the roof is that way.

I'm sure they can employ more people easier than they can make robots to do it, they probably just underestimated the time-per-unit and so didn't employ enough people to start with.
