Anybody have experience with these? I know the 27" are all the rage but these are actual 30" monitors without AG coating. And 700$ O_O

Edit: Links

Second edit: I've checked out all 3 models and here are the differences. (All 3 have built-in speakers)

1) The low priced (650$) Yamasaki Sparta has a layer of tempered glass on it (bad).

6ms/ 1000:1 static contrast ratio/ 116W power usage. Also says WQXGA (the correct branding) in the marketing poster for its resolution but at the bottom of the spec sheet says qhD

DVI input only.

2) The mid-range Crossover 30Q5 Pro is 700$. No glass

5ms/ 3000:1 static contrast ratio/ 140W power consumption. Also says QHD for resolution

DVI input only.

3) Crossover 3020MDP Pivot (750$) . no glass

6ms / 1000:1 static contrast ratio/ 95 W power consumption o_O. And this one says wqhd for resolution ...not sure who made these spec sheets.

This one has many input options. 2x HDMI/ Display port/ DVI / RGB.

If you want a 30" wait until next year for the release of the 3013, LG has been selling the same 30" panel since 2007, and aside from ergonomics/bezel differences between brands (excluding NEC/Eizo) the image quality has largely remained the same.

You could get a domestic 27" with much better image quality and a warranty for 700$ (Asus PB278Q or Samsung S27A850D)

So far only the 30" Yamakasi has been reviewed by PRAD and it sucked, since they all use the same panel it wise to avoid the Korean 30 inchers.

Ignore the contrast #'s 30 inchers are lucky to have >700:1 contrast, so they have poor black levels compared to most other smaller displays.

Could I have a link to this review? Also I'm sure this is a niche market for people who want 30 inch monitors without shelling out 900+, or that AG coating many people despise.

It's a niche market because most people don't need wide gamut displays and they cost way more than 27" 1440p display despite having worse image quality.

NVM, it's the Shimian that was reviewed

Some one [H]ere had the Yamakasi and was trying to sell it within a week since they also owned a 27" 1440p PLS and did not like the downgrade.

...and I'm 90% sure they are all matte

:p No need to edit out your real opinion. Can you explain to me in pm abit why 27 inchers have better image quality than 30" ? Also it is glossy, its right there in the advertisement, that is one of the main reasons why I like this particular monitor. Glossy.

Also these are 8-bit panels (16.7m). Probably why they are cheaper than the shimian qh300 PRAD reviewed.

27 inchers cover the sRGB colour space properly while non-high end 30 inch wide gamut displays have oversaturated & unnatural colours (sun burned skin tones) as well as mediocre black levels. The 30 inch Eizo/NEC have proper sRGB modes but they still have poor blacks and grainy anti-glare coatings.

Left=wide gamut=gross

I just looked at CrossOver's site, the one 30" has a glossy bezel, but a matte coating. The 30" DVI-only models do not have sRGB modes, and even if the 30MDP has an sRGB mode it will still have poor black levels since all 30 displays do.

Note how the first few images look while the 27" models clearly look reflective

So are you saying that the screen is not glossy and only the bezel is glossy?
As far as I know there are NO 30" glossy monitors yet.

I've been asking this same question in other posts... Are these newer Korean tempered glass 30" models ALL glass screen (eg glossy like an iMac), or are they an AG panel with glass stuck over the top of it ?

Not sure exactly which 30" models you're referring to but the Dell U3011 is wide gamut but when you select RGB or sRGB modes, the colors are as they should be for those modes. I have the U3011 and I honestly can't stand the way it looks in RGB and sRGB modes, the colors are drab and looks very washed out even though technically that's calibrated correctly. There's lots of color modes to choose from on the U3011 and many of them are wide gamut but I wasn't 100% pleased with any of them until I made a few adjustments but I'm very happy with the custom mode, which is wide gamut and with a few tweaks to bring down the red and green color levels a bit. I think its look pretty stunning honestly.
