Motion-Driven Concatenative Synthesis of Cloth Sounds

The military uses this tech for designing BDUs (maybe other unitforms as well). Pretty specialized field.

Great now nvidia can incorporate PhysX audio into their GPUs and AMD will have to continue using "unrealistic" canned sounds.

Tech like this in games would be a monumental step up from:
trigger event=play prerecorded sound.

We are getting more and more animation in games that is dynamic, so dynamic sounds with the animations would actually add a dramatic level of realism. When people around you move, they make noise based on interation of their clothing with the environment and with itself. I'd like to see this.

Fantastic, now we won't have realistic cloth sounds in games to go with the realistic cloth physics that we don't have in games.

was anyone else laughing their asses off during the "first person boxing" scene?

the sounds were all a little too "in your face" sounding, needs some kind of acoustic treatment there I think.
