I guess this adds new meaning to the term "I'm feeling lucky." :D

Google noticed you were searching for a former head of state's wife. Did you mean to search for how to buy that former head of state's wife as a prostitute? Former first lady of Germany Bettina Wulff is suing Google for libel over auto-complete results that suggest she had a former life as a sex worker.

What a dumbass. if my name was Mike, and I started typing "Mike is a" - and the autocomplete suggested Mike is a faggot.... does that make google responsible for what other people have searched? *rolls eyes*.

without knowing German laws and such. how could it be libel? its not like the auto complete was specifically for "Former first lady Bettina Wulff..." There could very well be other people named Bettina Wulff out there.

Libel = written. The only people whom actually wrote that were the people whom searched it. Soooo good point.

Every time I searcg for my name "Dennis Steffens", it's not me. I get a:

-Dennis Steffens, a CPA.
-Dennis Steffes, missing the "n".
-Denis Steffens, I have a penis thank you.
-Dennis Stephens, Stef-fens not Ste-fens.
-Dennis Steffens, got the same birth year right but I'm an American(sadly).

Come on Google, do you not know who I am!?!?

The lawsuit is probably self libel x100. Now a lot more people are going to google this.
 
If I make a copywrited statement, then I tell people to google my statement, and autocomplete has it... can I sue google for using my copywrited statement??

I think it may have something to do with the "Personal" search results (if you're logged in), which I don't use myself, but who knows. Here is mine from Firefox's Google Search box:

Mike is god
Mike is future walt
Mike is gay song
Mike is god cake farts
Mike is douche
Mike is happy
Mike is speaking

Which it is those three bolded ones that I don't understand, especially the last of those three! lol

She's the former first lady of german president with the shortest term ever because he is suspected of [getting caught] corruption and accepting bribes and such. So that makes it all the more hilarious that she's going to learn all about the Streisand effect...

Now that this has made international news, I'm laughing all the harder... every time I hear about it on the news... which is 3-4 times a day...
