According to this patent application, an alarm will sound if your Google Glasses are stolen off your head. Just great, thieves will have to chop your head off to prevent the alarm from sounding. This was obviously well thought out.

Why do I need an alarm to tell me the glasses have been removed from my face?

Wearing 1500 dollars. Someone is bound to take them right off your face.

Hows that stopping anyone from threatening you from removing the glasses yourself, by a knife or a gun?.

The other person might as well just panic and shoot you in the head, when the alarm goes of while you remove them.

See this is thing. The glasses only need to be a input/out and display. The glasses don't need a cpu and ram and all that jazz. I'd like to see WiDi or something like that used in coordination with the glasses. So that the processing is done on a cell phone in your pocket and the glasses are merely an interface. It would greatly reduce the cost and increase computing power to use this type of setup.

Same goes for tablets that can process on a real laptop in your backpack or desk while you hold the tablet interface in your hand.
