We all know the Internet is the place to get filthy rich, just ask the Nigerian Businessman. :D There are some really rich active and retired Internet Entrepreneurs out there, but can you name more than a handful of the richest of the rich?

These geeks have literally revolutionized the way business is carried out around the globe, or have changed the way we interact with each other on a daily basis.

Meh... "Net worth" doesn't equate to being rich case in point

Mark Cuban became a billionaire when he sold his company Broadcast.com to Yahoo, at the absolute peak of the dotcom bubble, for $5.9 billion. Even more brilliantly, Cuban sold 100% of his Yahoo stock as soon as he was allowed, netting him $2.5 billion in cash. This move was brilliant because after the bubble burst, Yahoo's stock dropped from $108 a share to less than $5 a share.

So Mark Cuban's "net worth" was 5.9 billion, then it dropped to 42% of the value before he could do anything, and if he didn't cash out it it would have been down to 4.6% of it's value. He was smart, he cashed out when he could. Zuckerberg is "wealthy" sure, but if his stock tanks, he won't be very wealthy anymore, someone like Bezos however actually has a product with a business model for making money, so he'll stay atop that list.

No. He did not get all of that 5.9 billion.
 
How come pincus is ranked 22, but is equal to #30 (1 billion) and half a billion less than 23 and 21? Do we not proofread on the internet at all anymore?
 
I can't thing of a single instantce where people havent' poofred what is on on teh inner net.
