When you are trying pull off a casino heist, advertising on Craigslist probably isn't the best way to round up a crew.

A man who said a Craigslist ad led him to take part in an attempt to steal high-stakes chips from a Vegas Strip casino amid a cloud of pepper spray is facing an evidence hearing in June.

Stupid is as stupid does...

Hmm, article doesn't mention them being nab because of the ad listing, just getting caught trying to commit the crime, web-police must be slacking off.

These guys are not bright. The chips would be rendered useless. There's systems in place that allows a casino to track each individual chip on the floor (software can automatically analyse betting patterns). Black listing a serial is a no brainer. I doubt that Bellagio doesn't have something like this. I worked many IT shifts at Bellagio and they were pretty up and up on technology.

Well if you're going to Craigslist for your talent, you're basically one step below swinging by Home Depot to get help.

I'm surprised that Steve didn't include a blurb identifying them as the "Craigslist Eleven" :p

this shit was such a joke i work at the Bellagio and happened to see the entire thing on camera these guys are joke them posting on craigslist is no suprise theyre a bunch of morons

@cyclone yes the guy did get caught from the first robbery his name was anthony carleo was a judges son was arrested for the Bellagio robbery after trying to sell the stolen chips to a undercover police officer in the Bellagio

Craigslist isn't exactly the place I'd go to assemble an ocean's 11 crew. Half crew wouldn't show up. Half would try to negotiate down your rate.

I've heard that a large amount of bank robberies are actually successful. We don't hear about them because they don't want us to hear about them. Not that I'm going to rob a bank ;), but I've always wondered if that's true.

robbing it seems to be the easy part, the getaway on the other hand seems to be a bitch :D
