I'm not sure why this self destructing SSD is called "invincible" but the way the thing burns up all Mission Impossible style is pretty cool. Thanks Edward C. for the linkage!

Or, you could just use a cheap SSD with encryption, rather than having to constantly replace the drive every time someone new walks into the room and pushes the red button while asking "what's this?"
Whats wrong with her voice lol
OCZ has had this feature for years XD.

Why? That's completely unnecessary.I'm not impressed. Call me when someone packs a little thermite into the ssd.
You forgot ignition source.1 part rust powder - 2 parts aluminum powder, and data security is not a problem!
Technology that is PedoBear approved!
Sold im buying 3 and if he riaa trys to sue me i am pushing the the red buttons.

I wasn't aware SSDs retained data post format. If all the switches go on/off then they're just plain on/off.
So, what happens if your power is cut before you try to use the destruct function?

That's a good point. If you can simply build the controller to tell every bit to simultaneously move to 0 or 1 with a pushbutton the data is GONE in less than 1 second.
Gubmit buys a pile of these.
"Destroys them"
PRC intel dumpster dives
Replaces logic board.
Shazam! All your stealth (again) we clone for great justice!
CSI miami will be able to recover the drive after self destruct
When the chips were fried, copies of the bits of data were burned to the plastic casing of the chips. And, with this camera and the "enhance image" button, we're able to see those bits of data and record them.
