The following is a statement from Microsoft Deputy General Counsel David Howard regarding the Microsoft v. Motorola Mobility case, heard before the U.S. District Court of Western Washington at Seattle: "Motorola promised to make its patents available to Microsoft and other companies on fair and reasonable terms. Today's ruling means Motorola can't prevent Microsoft from selling products until the court decides whether Motorola has lived up to its promise."

Lacks detail, and related links have nothing to do about motorolla.

Anybody care to explain what this is about?

Basically, Microsoft are really freaking scared of competition in the mobile field, even more so now that it's clear for all of us that they are more desperate than ever to get people into WP7, so they work their best to nail the competition and pull off acts that would have smaller companies ripped up in court in an instant.

Yeah yeah yeah, Microsoft is evil, open source is good, yadda yadda yadda ...
