The rumor mill is working overtime grinding out supposed details of the new-soon-to-be-released Apple television. The most current rumor is that it will not be called the iTV as previously thought, but due to a legal entanglement may be called the Apple iPanel instead. iSee, iUnderstand and iApprove. :D

Apple is trying to negotiate with the ITV broadcaster, the BBC competitor is currently reluctant to permit the use of its name for a new television centric device.

I don't see why they don't just call it the iTV. Sure there is the ITV network over in the UK, but when has Apple ever cared about other companies' trademarks?

Why do you think they changed the name of the product to Apple TV in the first place?

better have greater than 1080p resolution. with all this push for high pixel density displays in their ios devices, im hoping theyre the company that can finally make some kind of advancement since 5 years ago.

36 inch retina display, 10000x7000 resolution, you can watch 10 full-resolution blu-rays on the same screen at the same time

Any somewhat factual stats out for this thing yet or are they sealed up pretty good so far?

It would be nice to see Apple push the 4K display into the market, but I don't think they will do that....just yet.

Guys need to get over it. Apple as a company has much to be desired, but they do release very solid products.

Looks like anyone who makes a product with "panel" in its name can look forward to a bunch of frivolous lawsuits. I feel sorry for makers of LCD display panels and solar panels, and wish them the best of luck in their inevitable litigation defenses.

They will be fine, as long as their panels aren't rectangular.

Which is useless since it won't allow porn!

correction - porn apps aren't allowed. You're more than welcome to peruse porn websites and even streaming porn.

At least that's what I heard. (cough cough).

I'm expecting these things to be crazy expensive. Any credible rumors on pricing?

iKnow, how would they be able to charge for the next version though. iDunno about you but iHope someone sues them for using the word panel.

Do you think they're going to go the iPhone route, and price the initial 720 displays at $10,000 a piece initially, then lower the price to $2,000 6 months later, then release a 1080p model a year after release?

its the apple way. leave off a few obvious features, then add them in one at a time over the next 5 years. iphone, ipod touch, ipad, they always do that. i gotta say its pretty smart as there are plenty of people who upgraded each of those devices every generation.

They did it for the Apple TV, so...
