[H] users 7950 Overclock Results
Hey all- We had a thread for the 7970 overclocks that our forum brethren were able to achieve, but I've got this new sapphire 7950 OC edition in my rig and was wondering what kind of overclocks you all on the forum have been able to squeeze out of your 7950s. Lets see your crazy results!
My highest stable OC thus far is 1235/1775 at 1.25V. I can run 1200/1775 at 1.2V http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2934942 What are you all getting?

I'm getting my 2 sapphire 7950's OC editions in today and I will post something later. I just hope they overclock well together. Should be beast if they do. Nice overclocks btw.

Nice. Stock voltage mine would only go to I think about 1045 or so, but I didn't mess much with stock voltage:-) Trixx made it WAY too easy. I've actually been extremely impressed with Trixx compared to the first time I tried to use it a bit more than a year ago.

I dug up my notes from the overclocking I did when I first received my Sapphire 7950 OC 5 weeks ago.
I tried both Trixx & MSI Afterburner for overclocking & voltage tuning, and after getting similar results from both settled on AB due to its more robust set of features. For stability testing I would let the Leo demo run for 30-60 minutes followed by some Crysis Warhead gameplay in the frost levels (Enthusiast settings, 4xAA). Testing was done at 18-20c ambient temps & I used the #2 BIOS on the card which supposedly uses a more aggressive fan profile. As reviewers of the card noted, the card's fans are inaudible; unfortunately mine has a bit of coil whine. 925 Mhz core / 1375 Mhz Mem (Stock 7970 settings) stable at stock voltage of .993v 55c temp 1000 / 1375 1.09v 62c 1075 / 1375 1.149v 66c 1100 / 1375 1.175v 67c 1125 / 1375 1.2v 67c 1150 / 1375 1.2v --> artifacts in Unigine I have settled on 1075 / 1375 @ 1.149v. Reviewers around the web used voltages of 1.2 - 1.25 in their overclocking, so I wanted to keep my voltage a bit lower than that for 24/7 use. Also I found that while I could increase my memory clock, my scores in Unigine and 3dmark11 would not go any higher with a memory clock above 1375, in fact they went down slightly. |

awesome write up hodor. This helps me so much. I just recieved my two sapphire OC 7950's last night and was able to get 950/1250 on both cards at stock voltage. I thought that was kind of low but its good to see other peopel with similar clocks. I would love to get anything above 1000 for day to day use. There cards are amazing. So quite. I recommend anyone looking for a 7950 look at these sapphire cards. Would you mind sharing your 3dmark11 graphics score?

I have mine at 1200 core 1700 with 1.25volts. I may increase it to 1.275 and play with 1250 core.
I know we can give more volts to the memory but I keep mine at 1.6v for the memory. Dont want to kill it. My temps while gaming say in the 60s.

I would also love to get comparisons from you guys as far as performance goes. Below is my link to 7970 vs 7950 and also 7950 vs 7950 overclocked in battlefield multiplayer.

What driver version are you using? Also- could you link to your actual 3dMark11 score? I'd like to compare it to mine to see just how much of a difference that 2700k makes over my i5 750:-)

how are you guys getting over 1100 core 1575 memory? MSI AB does not let me go higher.

My card is a dual bios switch that someone on here informed me about. I was like you and stuck at a limit then I changed it and I am now at the max (in ab) with the second bios. If you look around there is a fix but I could not get it to work.

Wait, you have the same card, right next to the xfire bridge there is a tiny switch, if you look at your card in the case it should be just to the right of the xfire connections.
