6970 DVI issue

SO i got a new 6970 stuck it in, removed my flashed 6950 till me extra PSU cables come in, and the dual link DVI does not work, it will work in vga mode in bios, once it gets to windows login it might flash or turn monitor dark. i'm on the 2nd dvi that does not do dual-link and limits my resolution :/ Any idea what might have caused this?

What card is it? If it is like the Asus DCII models, the Switch on the card acts as a BIOS switch as well as disables one of the DPorts and make one of the DVI into dual-link.

its an xfx 6970 rev1.1 no switch :/ does not even have a bios switch like my 6950 rev 1.0.
The previous owner did use Display port instead of HDMI, you think the card might be auto disabling the dual link somehow? I finished putting everything at 2am after filling and de-airing my loop, i'll try to reset the card in the slot, maybe something is shorting out.

Turned out to be a weird driver issues, it all started working after 2nd clean/reinstall.
