Microcenter - In store Only - Buy either a 2600K or a 2500K and get $50 off any P67/Z

I picked up the I2600k w/ the P8Z68 pro...maybe went a bit overboard, oh well!

They're also taking $50 off any 1155 motherboard with the i3 2100 @ $100. You can get the Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 for free after a $10 MIR. That's a good deal for a low-end build or htpc.

I think this is the first time they've offered something other than the MSI H61 board.

What's the cheapest overclocking board that falls within this deal? I'm in the market to upgrade too

Sorry, but do you have any proof?
This is an excellent deal, but I can't find it anywhere...
Thanks.

MSI Z68 gd43, gd45, gd55, gen 3 boards look decent on the cheaper side.

they also have a free gigabyte mobo free when you buy certain x2, x4 and x6 cpu's

Not a bad deal but I find their Mobo's a little higher than the online retailers.
Eg. Asus P8Z68-V G3 is $209 vs only $189 Amazon/Newegg.
Plus when you add in the tax and drive time...

The Asrock Extreme4 Gen 3 that I got was $184 before the discount, the same as Newegg. Granted, you have tax and the gas, but $50 easily makes up for that. Also, I have found they will match online prices sometimes, but probably not under this deal.

Wow, can't believe this has not been posted yet. Usually when they do this it's posted early in the morning.

Good through 1/15/12.

I just picked up the Asrock Extreme4 Gen3 Z68 with the I5 2500K for $315 before tax. The MB was $134.99 and the chip was $179.99. Pretty sweet deal.
This is the same deal running for over a month now. Was $60 off back in November.

The i3 2100 deal is the only new deal this month. I just spent $200 on a Llano A8-3870K and ASUS FM1 Pro, other wise Id be getting the 2100 and the $75 Gigabyte board (both have all solid caps and $10 MIRs, but this one has better phase mosfets then the $60 one).

Then there is this one if you need more sata ports and another PCIe 16x slot.

The second one is also hackintoshable

Not on the 2500K, at least not in the last two weeks of December.

can't believe what it is the same discount for a year now on 2600k 2500k give -10 or -20 discounts dollars or what not per month

Swapped my AMD for a i3 2100 combo with a Asrock Z68 Pro3 M board. Got the board for $59.99 that's a helluva deal!

Did this to make a switch to unlocked i5 or potentially Ivy in the future, i3 holds up pretty well.

January specials (and in the circular that was sent by mail - specifically, page 24) at microcenter.com.

It's two different discounts: $50 off any LGA1155 motherboard purchased simultaneously with i3-2100 (no exceptions)

OR

$50 off any P67/Z68 motherboard purchased simultaneously with i5-K or i7-K (basically, a re-run of the pre-Christmas "Vitamin K" deal)

Why it's better than [W]arm - it applies not just to i3-2100, but it goes hard after LGA775 fence-sitters.

http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0359809 (i3-2100)
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0371775 (ASUS P8Z68-V LX)
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0361035 (MC 8 GB DDR3-1333 CL9 kit)

Note that the motherboard and RAM are the same choices I used - the only change is the CPU. And it's $200 at worst - including tax - even in high-tax states like California.

...it goes hard after LGA775 fence-sitters...

They finally got me. Went in on a 2600K/P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 combo last night to replace my q9550/P5Q rig.

Now I await a new CPU block, PSU and a unisink for my GTX570 and then the build begins. :D :D :D

Water-cooling?

Yes - I have a complete loop and just needed a new block for 1155, so I ordered a Raystorm. I also grabbed a swiftech unisink for the 570 to go with a MCW60 I already have. Considered switching to air, but this loop has run on zero maintenance for 2 years and performs really well with very low noise (inaudible from 3ft), so I figured why mess with it.

How long does Microcenter price match their own sales? I picked up my 2500k and mobo week before Christmas with the Facebook $20 coupon, want to stop by and get the extra $50 off the combo as well. :D

I thought the $50 off mobos has been running since like October. I picked up a 2500K and a Z68 mobo the first week of December and I got the discount. Though you are the one that paid for your combo so I'm sure you know what discounts that you did and didnt' get. I have no idea how long they'll match their own price, but I'd definitely say give them a call. It's definitely worth a few minutes on the phone if you think they owe you $50.

Understandable, then.

UPDATE: MC Fairfax VA is OOS on i5-K, MC Rockville MD has plenty, though.

For a couple weeks, they had $50 a Z68/P67 motherboard with the purchase of a 2600K.

Even if they don't give the additional $50 back, $50 off is still better than $20 off.

Ya, i3 2100's sold out nearly all MC's!

I wonder if there is any chance at all that if you walked in there and they didn't have an i3-2100 if they would give the same $50 mobo discount with the i3-2125? Probably no way in hell right?

They might, only way to find out is to try. Some years back I was building a machine for a friend and asked the store manager to price match all the stuff against Newegg, and he did. Granted, we were spending like $1200, so YMMV.

if you aren't too far from a store, it's probably worth a shot. :)

Just talk to a manager and see what they say. Just remember to do it politely and you never know.
