A new study finds that people are more likely to lie when texting. Keep this in mind when your relatives text you that lame excuse about having to miss the family gathering this year. ;)

Lying via text makes intuitive sense. It's what researchers call "lean media," which means it doesn't effectively transfer the rich emotional cues that might alert someone to duplicitous behavior. You can't stutter over text, or twist your hands nervously, or dart your eyes.

When ever they give me some lame excuse I announce to them I am giving there gift to somebody else or the homeless shelter if they don't show up.

in a text message i say crap to my family I would never say in real life.

But its true I do give there stuff away if they do not show up.

Is this the same group that determined people are more likely to be happier on Saturdays than Mondays? :p
