You may say who is he and why is his passing important, but you know him by his accomplishments. Charlie Walton invented RFID technology to enable wireless readers in door locks, key cards, cargo tracking, supply chain management and hundreds of other daily uses and held over 50 patents. Charlie Walton died November 6th at age 89. His legacy lives on.

Every time you use one of these chips, it would be nice if, once in a while, you thought about the man who invented them

All these conspiracy nuts on here and not a word? Not even some cynicism?

Punch clock got all but got destroyed thanks to this guy. Now just a swipe at the door.

Well, geez... I'm late, but "Screw you Charlie Walton!"

One of the many steps towards 1984

Good to know that people who invented nothing, such as Jobs are media stars while the important ones are ignored and forgot very easily.
